Malaev Erlan Abutalipuly
Erlan Malaev Abutalipuly was born on March 18, 1971, in Masak village, Shelek district, Almaty region.
From 1993 to 1994, he worked as an assistant director at JSC “Kazakhfilm.”
From 1994 to 1996, he served as a sound director at the G. Musirepov Kazakh State Academic Children’s and Youth Theater in Almaty.
In 1997, he graduated from the Theater and Cinema Department of the T. Zhurgenov Kazakh State Institute of Theater and Cinema and came to the Kalibek Kuanyshbaev State Academic Kazakh Musical Drama Theater in the capital on assignment.
In 1997, he made his debut role as Aksholand in the premiere performance of “Kandy Azu” (The Bloody Fang), based on M. Auezov’s short story “Kokserek.”
Since 2005, he has been a singer and director of the “Baiterek” group in the Kazakh pop scene.
In 2006, he became a laureate of the “Darіn” State Youth Award of Kazakhstan.
He is a laureate of the “Serper” award from the Union of Youth of Kazakhstan.
In 2013, he was awarded the honorary title of “Honored Worker of Kazakhstan.”
He is a laureate of the Independent “Tarlan-Platinum” award.
In 2019, he graduated with a degree in “Director” from the Beyshenealiyev Kyrgyz State Institute of Arts in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

In 2021, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the actor, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Erlan Malaev, the premiere of the play Kunambai was held. The work, written by the famous writer and screenwriter Talasbek Asemkulov, was staged by theater director and Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Bolat Uzakov. Erlan Malaev portrayed the role of Kunambai. The play was presented to theater experts during the 2021-2022 TEATR ALL Nur-Sultan Theatre Week Festival and the “Kalleki Tynysy” Premiere Week, where it received high praise.
