Ospanov Zhanat Serikuly
Actor, laureate of the Kazakhstan Union of Youth "Serper" Award.
Ospanov Zhanat Serikuly was born on May 22, 1987, in Almalyk village, Talgar district, Almaty region.
From 2003 to 2006, he studied acting at the Jussipbek Elebekov Republic College of Show Business and Circus in Almaty, under the guidance of People’s Artist of Kazakhstan B. Omarov.
From 2006 to 2010, he studied at the Kazakh National University of Arts, in the Faculty of Acting for Drama Theatre and Cinema, under the supervision of People’s Artist of Kazakhstan L. Beknazar-Khaning.
Since 2009, he has been working as an actor at the Kalibek Kuanyshbayev State Academic Kazakh Musical Drama Theatre.
From 2010 to 2011, he served in the military at the military unit No. 28903 in Taraz.

Awards:
In 2014, he won the “Best Actor” nomination during the “Know Your Actor” event held for the International Theatre Day on March 27.
On March 27, 2017, he was awarded a Letter of Appreciation by the Mayor of Nur-Sultan city for his contribution to the arts.
In 2018, during the 120th anniversary of T. Zhurgenov, at the VII International Theatre Festival of Central Asian countries, he received the “Debut” award for his role as Zharik in M. Auezov’s “The Helpless Day”.
In 2018, he became a laureate of the “Serper” award of the Kazakhstan Union of Youth.
He was awarded the “SakhnaGer-2018” National Prize in the “Hope” nomination.
In 2022, the play “Altaydan augan el”, in which Zh. Ospanov performed one of the leading roles, won the “Best Performance” award at the 28th Republican Festival of Drama Theatres of Kazakhstan.
That same year, the production “Don Quixote” featuring the actor, dedicated to the 125th anniversary of M. Auezov, received high praise from international theatre experts at the 8th International Theatre Festival of Central Asian Countries, winning in the category “Best Scenic Design.”
Additionally, the play “Bopai khanym”, in which Zh. Ospanov portrayed Nurali Khan, was recognized as the “Performance of the Year” by the cultural, arts, and sports award presented by the Ticketon platform.
In 2024, on the occasion of the Day of Culture and Art Workers, Zh. Ospanov received a Letter of Appreciation from the Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan for his significant contribution to the development of culture.
That same year, he was awarded the Saken Seifullin Medal for his performance as Yegor in the play “Saken-Sunkar.”
In Kazakh cinema, he played a leading role in the TV series “Altyn Uya” by E. Rustembekov.
