Omarova Lazzat Juniskyzy

Head of the Theatre Troupe, Recipient of the Order of Qurmet (Honor)

Lyazzat Zhunisovna Omarova was born on May 20, 1964, in Lesnoy village, Auliekol District, Kostanay Region, Kazakhstan.

From 1971 to 1979, she studied at a secondary school. Between 1979 and 1982, she graduated from the Kostanay Cultural and Educational College with a specialization in Leadership of Russian Folk Instrument Ensembles.

From 1982 to 1983, she worked as a cultural methodologist at a House of Culture. Between 1983 and 1986, she served as Director of the House of Culture at the Chernyshevsky State Farm.

From 1986 to 1991, she studied at the Al-Farabi Institute of Culture in Shymkent.

In 1991, she was appointed Senior Inspector of the Culture Department of the Akmola City Administration. She actively participated in organizing major cultural events at the city level and contributed significantly to the development of culture and the arts in the Akmola region, including supporting the establishment of a Kazakh theatre.

In 1997, at the invitation of Kadyr Zhetpisbayev, Artistic Director of the Kalibek Kuanyshbayev State Academic Kazakh Musical Drama Theatre, she was appointed Head of the Theatre Troupe.

From 1999 to 2009, she worked under the leadership of the legendary director and Hero of Kazakhstan, Azirbayzhan Mambetov. During the formative years of Kazakhstan’s capital, she made a substantial contribution to the development of Astana’s cultural and artistic life.

Since 1997, she has not only managed the theatre’s creative company but has also provided continuous support in organizing the artistic activities of individual performers. During this period, she contributed to the production of more than 100 national and international theatrical performances.

Over more than 35 years of service in theatre, Ms. Omarova has collaborated with distinguished Kazakh directors, including Talgat Temenov, Nurkanat Zhakypbay, Bolat Kurmangozhayev, Kuandyk Kassymov, Yersain Tapenov, Alibek Omirbekuly, Farhad Moldagali, and Dauren Sergazin. She has also worked alongside internationally recognized directors such as Honored Artist of Uzbekistan Vakhid Omarov, Honored Cultural Figure of Bashkortostan Airat Abushakhmanov, Honored Artist of Yakutia and Golden Mask Award laureate Sergey Potapov, as well as prominent Central Asian directors Bekzod Abdurazzakov, Ulanbek Bayaliev, Galiya Balpeisova, and Rustem Makhatayev.

In 2016, on the occasion of the theatre’s 25th anniversary, she was awarded the “Excellence in Culture” badge by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2023, she received a Letter of Appreciation from the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In the same year, she was awarded the Ashirbek Sygai Prize as part of the celebrations of Nauryz and World Theatre Day.

In 2024, she received a Letter of Appreciation from the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan for her significant contribution to culture and the arts.

In 2025, by Presidential Decree, she was awarded the Order of Qurmет (Honor) by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, for her outstanding contribution to the development and promotion of national culture and for her exceptional achievements in the cultural sector.

Lyazzat Zhunisovna Omarova actively participates in organizing major cultural events in the capital and contributes to maintaining their high professional standard. Since her first days at the Kalibek Kuanyshbayev Theatre, she has distinguished herself as a versatile, hardworking, and highly dedicated professional who has played a significant role in the establishment, growth, and development of the theatre.
