THE KAZAKH NATIONAL MUSICAL DRAMA THEATRE NAMED AFTER KALIBEK KUANYSHBAY PRESENTS THE PREMIERE OF THE FANTASY FAIRY TALE “QUMQALA” FOR YOUNG VIEWERS

On July 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., the Kazakh National Musical Drama Theatre named after Kalibek Kuanyshbay will present the premiere of the fairy tale “Qumqala” for children.
The performance is based on the folk tale “The Witch’s Riddle” and M. Sembaykyzy’s “A Tale About Time.” The stage version and direction are by Honored Artist of Kazakhstan Zhanat Chaikina. Artistic consultant — Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Gulmina Mirgaliyeva. Set designer — Erzhat Askarov. Costume designer — Akbota Kapsalan.
“Qumqala” is a philosophical tale that reflects the younger generation’s relationship with time. Through a dream, a boy named Batyr travels between past and future, play and reality, responsibility and choice — helping the audience to truly feel the value of time. This is a reminder of genuine values hidden behind modern technologies.
Cast: Akzhol Mamyr, Nurakhmet Serikbayev, Honored Cultural Workers Amanzhol Moldakhmet and Bakytgul Batyrkhanova, Ali Kaldar, Birzhan Zhunisov, and Honored Artist of Kazakhstan Zhanat Chaikina.
