Kozhakmetova Kulyia Imangazykyzy

Kozhakmetova Kulyia Imangazykyzy was born on August 7, 1958, in the Ayagoz district of Semey region.
From 1977 to 1981, she graduated from the acting department of the Almaty State Theatre and Arts Institute under the guidance of People’s Artist of the USSR, recipient of the State Prize, and professor Khadisha Bokeyeva.
From 1981 to 1983, she worked at the Almaty State Theatre for Children and Youth.
From 1985 to 1999, she worked at the S. Seyfullin Regional Kazakh Drama Theatre in Karaganda.
Since 1993, she has been hosting concerts at the K. Bayzanov Philharmonic. She has traveled to foreign countries with the Tattimbet Kazakh Folk Instruments Orchestra, promoting traditional Kazakh music.
Kulyia Imangazykyzy has contributed significantly to cultural events in Karaganda city, continuously honing her skills.
Since the fall of 1999, she has been working at the State Academic Kazakh Musical Drama Theatre named after Kalibek Kuanyshbayev in the capital city.
In 2004, the actress’ work was recognized, and she was awarded the title Honored Worker of Kazakhstan.
In 2017, on the occasion of the Culture and Arts Workers Day, she received a Letter of Gratitude from the Akim of Nur-Sultan for her contribution to the development of the country’s culture and arts.
In 2022, during the “Kalleki Tynysy” premiere week, Kulyia Kozhakmetova was awarded the Stage Luminary nomination from the Kadyr Zhetpisbayev Award for her role as Ida in A. Menchell’s Autumn Twilight (directed by U. Karypbajev).
