Maqsutova Botagoz Elyaubaevna

Maqsutova Botagoz Elyaubaevna was born on December 14, 1971, in Akmola region, Kazakhstan.

From 1992 to 2013, she worked as a leading actress at the S. Seifullin Regional Kazakh Drama Theatre in Karaganda. During her time at the theatre, she played over 30 roles.

Since 2014, she has been an actress at the Kalibek Kuanyshbayev State Academic Kazakh Musical Drama Theatre in the capital city.

Awards:

In 1997, at the International Theatre Festival in Almaty, for “The Day of the Defenseless” by M. Auezov, she won the second place.
In 2000, at the Republic Theatre Festival in Pavlodar, for “Kiyamettayim Kyoto” by M. Gaparov and G. Gaparova, she won the first place.
In 2001, at the Republic Theatre Festival in Kyzylorda, for “Domalak Ana” by Sh. Murtaza, she won the third place.
In 2003, she received the “Kazakhstan Youth Union Award”.
Honored Worker of Culture of Kazakhstan.
In 2007, she received the “Year’s Artist” award from the Akim of Karaganda region for achievements in culture and arts.
In 2019, she was awarded a special Certificate of Appreciation from the Deputy Mayor of Nur-Sultan on the occasion of the International Theatre Day, March 27.
In September 2019, during the XXVII National Festival of Kazakhstan Drama Theatres in Semey, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the People’s Artist of Kazakhstan, State Prize Laureate, and prominent actress of theatre and cinema, Amina Omirzakova, she was recognized as the “Best Supporting Actress” for her roles as Laily’s mother and the Old Woman in the performance “Laili-Majnun”, directed by Barzu Abdurazzakov.
The “Laili-Majnun” performance (Author: Nizami Ganjavi, Director: B. Abdurazzakov) won the “Critics Award” from the International Theatre Critics Association. The performance was shown at the XV International Theatre Festival of Turkic Peoples in Kazan in 2021 and received high praise from international theatre experts.
In 2021, Botagoz Maqsutova was awarded the Honorary Certificate from the Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
