Myrzakulova Maraljan Kazybekkyzy – Conductor of the Folk Instruments Orchestra, Laureate of International Competitions
She is the leader and conductor of the Kazakh folk ensemble at the Q. Kuanyshbaev State Academic Kazakh Musical Drama Theater.
In 1996, she entered the Kurmangazy Almaty State Conservatory, studying in the class of Professor B.T. Yskakov for dombyra, and in the class of Professor Nysypbayev for “Conducting.”
In 1999, she transferred to the Kazakh National University of Arts in Astana and graduated in 2001, earning qualifications as an “Orchestra Artist,” “Conductor of the Kazakh Folk Instruments Orchestra,” “Concert Performer,” and “Teacher.”
After completing her studies at KazNUA, she began teaching at the Composition and Orchestral Conducting Department in September 2001.
Since 2001, she has been leading the Kazakh Folk Instruments Orchestra at the college.
Achievements:
- In 1999, she was a laureate of the Young Symphony Orchestra Conductors Competition at the Kurmangazy Kazakh State Conservatory in Almaty.
- In 2000, she became a laureate of the III International “Shabyt” Creative Youth Festival in Astana (dombyra nomination).
- In 2001, she won the Shamon Kazhigaliev I Republic Conductors Competition in Oral.
- In 2004, she was the laureate of the 1st Republic Conductors Competition named after Nurgisa Tlendiev in Almaty.
- In 2008, she was the laureate of the 1st International Conductors Competition named after Nurgisa Tlendiev in Astana.
- In 2011, she became a laureate of the 1st Republic Conductors Competition named after Bozdaq Rzakhano in Aktau.
Since 2001, she has been the Chief Conductor of the Q. Kuanyshbaev State Academic Kazakh Musical Drama Theater.
In February 2021, M.K. Myrzakulova organized a folk instruments ensemble at the theater, which became a significant event in Kazakhstan’s musical life. Under her leadership, the ensemble quickly became a highly professional group, working closely with the theater’s actors and delighting audiences with new concert programs. On June 2, the ensemble held its debut concert at the Kaleki Theater.
M.K. Myrzakulova holds great respect among her colleagues.
