Time called for change. It was a turbulent era when those at the top could no longer govern as before, while those below were unwilling to continue living under the old order. The confrontation between rival factions led to a clash between the traditional nomadic livestock-based way of life and the emerging industrial system. It was a time when the repercussions of the First World War reached ordinary people, and when the peoples living under a single empire profoundly influenced one another.
