This play addresses the relevant societal issues of abandoned children, orphans, and single mothers. In other words, the chosen play touches on a crucial topic in today’s society. In any era, the future of a country is directly tied to the younger generation. “Education begins from the cradle,” says our people. What is the situation of our mothers who give birth and raise these generations? Why has there been an increase in abandoned children in society? Where do mothers who reject their children immediately after birth come from? Nowadays, many children in orphanages grow up without experiencing a mother’s love and care. A child who does not feel the warmth of a mother’s hand grows up to be cruel. Such children may not understand the concepts of home, homeland, and the land of their ancestors. What can we say about those giants who measure the world only with wealth and money? In any society, the most sacred values should be Mother and Child! Mother is the source of life, and Child is the continuation of life! This play will tell the story of a mother who sacrificed herself for the future of her child.
Eduardo De Filippo’s play “The Secret of a Woman” explores the fate of a woman. It is a work about her difficulties and the trials of destiny. This performance urges everyone to feel their responsibility before future generations and before God. Whatever happens on Earth happens only by the will of the Creator. Therefore, the significance of this performance is immense.
