Omar Maiya Smakhkhyzy

Omar Maiya Smakhkhyzy – Born on October 27, 1958, in the Kyzyltu District of the Akmolinsk Region.

In 1976, she graduated from the No. 2 Kazakh Secondary School and, in the same year, entered the theater studio at the M. Auezov Academic Kazakh Drama Theater, graduating in 1978 with honors.

From 1978 to 1979, she worked as an actress at the Taldykorgan Regional Drama Theater.

From 1979 to 2009, she was an actress at the M. Auezov Academic Kazakh Drama Theater in Almaty.

Between 1994 and 1996, she graduated from the T. Zhurgenov National Academy of Arts.

She taught at the T. Zhurgenov National Academy of Arts College.

Since January 5, 2010, she has been an actress at the State Academic Kazakh Musical Drama Theater named after Kalibek Kuanyshbayev in the capital city.

  • She was named laureate of the Republican “Zhyger” festival.
  • In 1992, she won the “Kazakhstan Youth Union” award for her role as Sagima in E. Amanchaev’s play “The Broken Cradle Song” and for creating a collective image of contemporary Kazakh youth and artistically analyzing life.
