Myrzakulova Maraljan Kazybekkyzy

Myrzakulova Maraljan Kazybekkyzy — founder of a folk instruments orchestra, talented conductor, educator, and laureate of international competitions.
She is the head and chief conductor of the Folk Instruments Ensemble at the K. Kuanyshbayev State Academic Kazakh Music and Drama Theatre.
In 1996, she was admitted to the Kurmangazy State Conservatory in Almaty to study dombyra under Professor B.T. Yskakov, and conducting under Professor Nusipbayev.
In 1999, she transferred to the Kazakh National Academy of Music in Astana, graduating in 2001 with qualifications as an orchestra artist, conductor of Kazakh folk instruments orchestra, concert performer, and teacher.
Starting in September 2001, she began teaching at the Department of Composition and Orchestral Conducting at the Kazakh National Academy of Music.
Since the same year, she has also led the college’s Kazakh folk instruments orchestra.

1999 – Laureate of the Young Symphony Orchestra Conductors’ Competition held by the Kurmangazy Kazakh State Conservatory (Almaty).

Since 2001, she has served as the chief conductor of the Kazakh Music and Drama Theatre named after K. Kuanyshbayev.
In February 2021, M.K. Mirzakulova established the Folk Instruments Ensemble at the theatre, which became a notable event in Kazakhstan’s musical life. Under her leadership, the ensemble quickly evolved into a highly professional group, closely collaborating with the theatre’s actors and delighting audiences with fresh concert programs.
On June 2, the debut concert of the Kalleki Theatre’s Folk Instruments Ensemble was held.
