Kaiyrbek Alibek Amangeldyuly

Dombyra player, recipient of the State Award of the "For Distinguished Labor"

Kaiyrbek Alibek Amangeldyuly is a Kazakh dombyra player, artist of the folk instruments ensemble at the Kazakh National Musical and Drama Theater named after Kalibek Kuanyshbayev, laureate of international competitions, author of the cultural and sports project “Dombyra on the Summits of the World,” and recipient of the State Award of the Republic of Kazakhstan “For Distinguished Labor”.

He was born on December 5, 1997, in the city of Kokshetau.

He began his musical education in 2008 at the Birzhan Sala Music School (Kokshetau), studying dombyra under Sakhen Erkenovich Birzhan until 2013.

From 2013 to 2017, he continued his studies at the college of the Kazakh National University of Arts under Meruert Slyamovna Yusbekova, and from 2017 to 2021, he graduated from the Kazakh National University of Arts, Faculty of Traditional Musical Art, specializing in Dombyra.
He studied under Turar Baydyusekovich Alipbayev – Honored Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan and professor.

In 2020–2021, he worked as a dombyra instructor at the Rabiga Yesimzhanova Music School in the village of Korgalzhyn.

From 2018 to 2024, he held the position of inspector of the student orchestra at Kazakh National University of Arts.

In 2022–2023, he served as a project manager for the national program “Elbasy Medali,” aimed at fostering youth development.

From 2022 to 2024, he worked as a manager of the international service and creative activities at the Kazakh National University of Arts.

Since 2021 to the present, he has been a dombyra player in the folk instruments ensemble of the Kazakh National Musical and Drama Theater named after Kalibek Kuanyshbayev.

Alibek Kaiyrbek is a laureate of international competitions, diploma holder of the International Competition “Shabyt” (2015), as well as a diploma holder of the International Delphic Games (Novosibirsk).
He is also the bronze medalist of the national project “Elbasy Medali.”

He is the author of a unique cultural and sports project “Dombyra on the Summits of the World,” which aims to promote Kazakh culture and strengthen Kazakhstan’s international image through ascents to the highest peaks and volcanoes on the planet, performing Kazakh kyuis for the first time in history.

Within this project, he also holds concerts and cultural-educational meetings in remote villages and expedition camps, acquainting audiences with the history and traditions of Kazakh musical culture.

The project has accomplished ascents and performances of Kazakh kyuis on the summits of:

  • Elbrus – the highest peak in Europe (project “7 Summits of the World”);
  • Kilimanjaro – the highest peak in Africa (project “7 Summits of the World”);
  • Island Peak (6200 m, Himalayas);
  • Kalapatthar (5644 m, Himalayas);
  • Pik Razdelnaya (6200 m, Pamir);
    and also in the Tian Shan Mountains.

In 2025, in honor of the Constitution Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the Constitutional Council of Kazakhstan, he made an ascent to the summit of Island Peak (6200 m, Himalayas), where he performed a Kazakh kyui on the dombyra and raised the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan (weighing 6 kg) to the summit.

Alibek Kaiyrbek is a member of the Council for the Prevention of Drug Crimes and Offenses under the Astana City Police Department and also an ambassador for the vitamin brand “Jaña Men” (Aityma Jakupova).

From 2013 to 2025, he represented the Republic of Kazakhstan at international concerts, tours, and expeditions, visiting countries including:
USA, France, Monaco, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Iran, Jordan, Israel, UAE, Tanzania, Turkey, Nepal, Egypt.

In 2025, he was a special guest on the Kazakhstani TV show “Tungy Studia” with Nurlan
